Can I install a radio in my car even if it's not on the list of cars that it fits?

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry and I want to install the Boss BV9990, but the list of cars that this radio can go in does not include my car. Is there a way to do it anyway?
It looks about the same size as the radio that is installed in it now, but it will still look bad in the dash?
