I just wrote this and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Your opinion would be appreciated 
Tonight I'll Pray
So tonight I'll pray to a God I'm unsure of for safety from myself.
I'll ask for clarity and meaning, a reason to continue along a path I question with every step.
I'll make a small request for answers, and I'll beg for protection for those I love.
I'll ask for forgiveness for sins I'm sure I'll repete.
I'll make excuses for how far I've deviated from what's right, though I know they are pointless.
I'll reflect on things I wish I could hide, things I may or may not regret.
I'll think about my beliefs, wondering if I'm enough for the Heaven that I've created in my mind.
I'll open my eyes and marvel at a beautiful night sky that can only be explained by the unexplained,
and I'll remember why I'm praying in the first place.
