Can I have a bicycle on campus? Can I use it as my mode of transportation in college?

Can you have one? Yes.
Can you use it as transportation? Yes.
Will you look stupid? No.
Is this a bad idea? No.
Do buses have racks on the outside? Yes, some.

Get a u-lock and always lock your bike, otherwise it will be stolen. Almost everyone brings a bike to college, but most kids don't even use them. Unless your classes are far away from your dorm or you're in a hurry I wouldn't suggest using a bike to get to and from class because the walkways will be crowded and it's not going to be any faster for you to ride a bike through them then it would be to just walk.

I'm gonna be going to school and dorming next year. And I can't afford a car. But I need something to get me around. It's not like I plan on taking long trips. So would I be allowed to have this? Would I look like a complete fool? My family doesn't have a lot of money and I can't have them making that sacrifice. So is this a bad idea? And aren't there some buses that allow you to put your bicycle in them? Like on a rack outside of it. Can anyone help me or offer advice?

Bicycles are allowed on campus but better have a good security system. They get stolen alot.
