Okay, my family is very sure they would like to move to Australia when I have completed my GCSEs in summer 2011. However, I am very confused as GCSEs don't seen to mean very much over there and there is something that grants you enterance to university courses called a HSC or High School Certificate? Would I have to enroll in school until I am 18 to do that or are there colleges in which I could complete the certificate?
After much debate I am staying until I finish my GCSEs because there is a slim chance that we may return to the UK and if I don't do them, I'll have no qualifications to my name.
Overall I'm just worried that if I go to a school out in Aus all the lessons will be different and I wont understand any of the work being done in class... I'm not entirely sure what the question is now after I've been rambling on but I guess the main thing is:
What do GCSEs mean in Aus?
And...
Can I go straight to college to do that certificate thing (HSC) or do I have to go to school again?
