I'm moving across the country. I currently live in New York City, so I don't own a vehicle (and neither do any of my friends). I need to ship 4 large boxes (all weighing about 50 lbs each) of books. I live approximately 7 blocks from a postal office. I looked up media mail on the usps website, and it doesn't allow me to pay online. I have the dimensions of the boxes and the weights. Is it possible to give those to someone at the post office, charge me postage, and print the shipping labels... and then have a mail person pick them up with some other boxes I need to ship?
I understand they check media mail packages, but that's an inspector who checks them mid-transit right? And actually at the post office prior to shipping?
