Hello i live in Montana and the people at Alltel told me that AT&T bought all alltel markets in Montana, so that means we are finally going to get some GSM service in the rural parts of Mt 
but my question is can i get T Mobile and continue to use it on AT&T's GSM service since there is going to be 2 GSM carriers in Montana (Cellular One & AT&T) but i do not want a T Mobile phone and unlock it, put a att sim in there, pay att i just want to use t mobile service pay them all that. I know my phone will roam on att but Will i get booted like att boots the people who tried to get the iphone and roam on Cellular One? I don't care really about 3g speeds im sure it will use EDGE which I'm okay with. But thanks!
Well I don't know how GSM roaming works, but I have verizon and i live in a very small town that has no verizon towers just a local company towers so i guess verizon phones roam on there when it says Extended network and its just 1X service no 3g so all we can do on this compantys network is just text and call which works ok calls come in better then texts cuz it gets backed up in there little CDMA network. Verizon phones work just fine when they roam on alltel texts and calls and data comes in just as good as it does in a verizon area. So I guess GSM roaming is different then CDMA. I will only switch to At&t if they build towers in my area.
