For my U.S. History class, I have this month to pick a topic and write a 15-page paper on it. The only parameters are that the topic must be relevant to U.S. History and have taken place entirely before the year 1900. Personally, I'm looking for a topic in the areas of math and science. For example, I have considered the Michelson–Morley experiment as a topic. It has to be a topic well-known enough so that I may find at least ten separate sources on the subject, as well as a few primary sources. My scope isn't limited only to math and science, but those subjects are where my interests lie, so keeping within them would make this paper easier for me to write. With how lost I am to find a topic, any suggestions are appreciated.
