Can I Get My Laptop (Max Res: 1366x768) To Stream 1080p Movies Into My Full HD TV?

I plugged my laptop into my 1080p HDTV with an HDMI lead (Only capable of 1080i), My laptop said for optimal viewing i must change the resolution to 1360x768, so i did, but i'm wondering if i can possibly take up to 1080i ot 1080p? When i had it at 1366x768 the TV said i was running at 1440x900. At 1360x768 the picture fit the screen perfectly.

Or will i need a different graphics card? The laptop I'm using is the Advent Roma 3000, the Graphics Card is Intel Mobile 4 Series.
