Comfortably Numb

I have a friend who moved out east last year with his family after high school. He hates it out there and says how everyone there is impolite and such. He hasn't made any friends and is going through harsh times with his university as he's become some what of a loner over there. For the last 2-3 months hes been telling me how if he could that he would take everyone down with him. He seems really down and some times seems suicidal. The thing is, his whole life i knew him from middle school...He's been all talk. He says he will do something but he never does. Like he will say he will do something, and always chickens out last second.
Il be dead honest..... There is prob a bunch of conversations on his computer that have him telling me how much he hates certain people over there and possibly giving hints on how he wants revenge.
I always tell him not to let them get him down and i give him positive stuff to think about and all but just say....one day he goes out and you know..... does the unthinkable..... and they find those conversations. Could they charge me with something? It's not like i told him to do it.
I know this sounds selfish and all but right now i don't care for peoples morals... i just want to know what my chances are of getting charged with something.
