Can I get financial aid?

I graduated in 2007 of summer, and I attended University of Riverside in the fall of 2007, all the way until the summer of 2008. I did horrible, I completely failed all my classes or withdrew from them, and I feel awful about it. I was academically disqualified, and I'm prepared to go back into school this upcoming fall(September) OR this upcoming winter 2009(January) by taking 8 classes(the dean said I could be readmitted if I did this). My question is, if I take the 8 classes and pass them with As and Bs and Cs, will I be able to get financial aid or any sort of money for getting good grades? My second question is, since I've essentially been out of school until this summer, is there anyway I can get financial aid for these 8 classes I am taking in the summer or fall?(I am taking 4 of the 8 classes right now, and I made add 4 more to complete the 8 if I have time, but if not, I will take the other 4 in fall) I'd love to have financial aid for those classes as well.

you can probably get financial aid in the form of loans which have nothing to do with your grades. If you are trying to get undergraduate financial aid that wont happen but you will qualify for graduate or professional financial aid.

Financial aid for good grades is very competitive, so you'll probably be out of the running for that type of grant or scholarship. But there's plenty based on need if you can qualify that way.

You also might do some searching for any aid which applies to your situation. Some examples might be if you're a minority, are studying a certain field, have a disability, have a parent that works at a large corporation or is a veteran, etc.. Try to think about what makes you unique as a student and search out private scholarships.

Talk to your financial aid office, they can give you the actual facts about what you can receive. But go further and do research on your own too (on free sites only, don't pay!).
