I was disqualified from a university but am now at a junior college. Adn still havent received my award letter so I do not know what is going on. I will go to the fin aid office monday but I cant wait. Can anyone shed light onto what is going to happen. And the reason I was disqualified was because I couldnt drop my 4 classes from the fall 08 semester and plan on dropping them retroactively. HELP!

You were discqualified from Fin Aid - not from university?
I don't know what state you are in but in order to receive fin aid you must meet academic requirement. If your violations are minor they usually put you on a probation and then discqualify you.
So, I think you won't receive the Fin Aid the second time.

Yes you can be academically disqualified because the government is not going to pay for you to party and fail... If you get your GPA above a 2.0 you can reapply. Michelle

Why wouldn't they let you drop your classes? That's odd!

No, you won't receive financial aid. That's how most schools are but check your school catalog under financial aid and academic status and it should tell you what will happen if you are academically disqualified all schools do.

You can't academically be qualified. Your parents and you have to have low income for you to qualify.

Yes you can. I was dismissed from a University and went to a Junior college to make up the classes I failed. I was able to get financial aid with them.

Nope...you have to make up the classes you defaulted in before you can be eligible for financial aid.
