...Please advise. Will? I was a subcontractor last year for 4 months. I was not given any tax information. I didnt file any taxes. That was the first year I ran into this. I want to go back to school. I was asked for my tax info. I filed out an EX-1040 for the school. Now they want additional info. I dont have any. Please advise. William
 
If you can't provide proof that you were not required to file income taxes, you're out of luck. Did you keep copies of your check stubs or any kind of written records? If you are a subcontractor, it's your responsibility to keep records and pay your taxes. But if you made over $600. from any single contractor, they should have provided you with a 1099.

I have no idea what an ex-1040 is.
