I have an associates degree from a local community college. I graduated in 2005 and received financial aid to pay for school. Recently, I decided to go back to school to start a new career path. I can't afford the college payments and was hoping to get a loan for the expenses. I wanted a Stafford loan as opposed to a private loan. When going through the financial aid process, I was told that I cannot receive financial aid due to exceeding the number of hours allowed to get aid. Upon telling them that I don't want a grant, just a loan, they told me that they were all included and I can't get Stafford loans either.
My question is, if I go to a college or university that I haven't attended before, would I then qualify for a Stafford loan since I won't have any hours of received aid at that school?
