Can I get deployed in a non combative MOS, and how can i increase my chances...

I'm a computer tech for the army an it did not stop me from going to Iraq in 04. Best thing is to just talk to your commander and request for a lateral transfer to another unit or wait to 2-3 years and change your MOS to something more combat oriented. But you can always go overseas and do mail runs or som type of convoy run.
 
...of getting deployed? I am a marine in my MOS school right now to be a court reporter (4422) and i hate the fact that i will probally never see combat. if i could do it all over id go 03. once i get to the fleet how can i get deployed and is there any way i can get in the fight, also how hard is it to make a lat move. I really want to go to Afgahnistan, and will do anything to get over there, any and all advice is appriciated! thanks
