can I get another lawyer on this case?

father was hit by a car riding his bike two years ago. he died recently. got a lawyer then they closed his case because his doctor did not provide medical information in time. he had several operations on his foot, and never been the same since his accident. His doctor said he had dementia. can i have another lawyer look into his case? accident was in Jan 08, he died sept 2009.
this happen in New York City.
 
Call another lawyer ASAP. Typically, the statute of limitations for actions such as this is two years. So you only have until Jan 10 to file before you are barred forever.

So, yes. Go talk to a second attorney. It is more difficult to file now that your dad is dead though... you have to go through the estate.
