Can I get a tattoo touched up elsewhere from the original place?

So I got a tattoo 2 months ago and I completely love it except for part of the outline of my tattoo is blotchy and missing ink. I wanted to know if it's okay to get a tattoo touched up somewhere else than the original place? I was considering a place that uses better quality ink than the original, that's why I ask. My tatt has the 'shadow effect' or at least I think that's what it's called.

Thanks in advance.

You can but most artists offer at least one free touchup on their pieces for exactly this reason. If you go somewhere else, you'll have to pay for it and some artists wont touch other people's work.

If it's just a couple spots that didn't heal perfectly, I think you're being rather unfair to your artist. The inks are probably fine. Healing doesn't always go perfectly because of many factors. You might have picked it. It might be in a spot that gets a lot of friction against your clothes or the rest of your body. The line might have not been set perfectly right when it was originally done.
