I've heard of people making a living playing video/pc games etc..but is this hard to get into? Does anyone else have this job?
I'm considering taking computer science at degree level - is this a good choice?

the first thing i should tell you about these kinds of jobs is the are NOT fun. these jobs are mostly occupied by game designers while they are in college, its kind of like an internship sort of thing (i think they also watch the programers or do a little programming themselves). basically what this job incvludes is starting a level and going to do a certain thing in a game. ex) go into a room and climb up on something to see if a glitch occurs. if there is one you need to take in depth notes on what happened and when so a programmer can fix it. you then restart the level and do something similar to that again. so you really arent "playing" the game you are actually troubleshooting it and telling the programmers what they need to fix.

You may need to get a CSE first and start gaming everything, whatever you can't afford read up on it, stay tuned into the industry and maybe, you could get hired as a Game Tester, if you could convince them using their own business model that you are increasing profit then yes.

Google it that's what I did. It is not as fun as it sounds it is more like being a quality auditor. From what I read you only get to play bits of the games and even those tend to be unfinished. Then you have to write reports etc on each bit.

Trust me if you google it you will get an idea more what you need to do if you are very serious about it.
