Can I fit BMX cranks onto a fixed gear bike?

I want to fit some DK socials onto my fixie, but I've heard there are some problems with the chain line not being exactly straight and other such issues. Can it be done and can the chainline be made straight?

Just incase you need it, here's a bit of info on my frame:

Eigth Inch Scrambler frame
120mm rear spacing
