Can I fit a GM Muncie SM465 4 - speed Transmission on a Chevrolet 250 inline six motor?

I currently have a GMC pickup truck with a straight 6 250 motor and a 3 speed column shift transmission on it. I hate shifting gears on the column and would rather have it on the floor. Is it possiable to swap ot my original transmission with the GM Muncie SM465 Transmission?

yes, if the tailshafts are the same length. why not buy a shifter for the original transmission?

Im pretty sure You can, You may need an adaptor, but most chevy trans. fit all, check with a GM. dealer or web site to find out for sure
