Can I drive a 125cc vespa (bike) in the U.K. with a Spanish licence?

This is a bit complex.

I'm resident in the UK but still have my Spanish Driving Licence B1. Some years ago the law changed in Spain so now you are allowed to drive 125cc bikes on a B1 Driving Licence in Spain (after 3 years of obtaining it - without having to pass any tests). In the actual document it doesn't show that you are entitle to drive 125cc (so the A1 section is empty). My question is: does this apply to the UK having a Licence that actually allows me that? can i drive a 125cc in the UK as I would do in Spain with my spanish licence?

The DVLA website is useless to find out this. Some say that yes, it's perfectly fine. Others say I have to pass a CBT (I can't believe it if it's true cos I've been riding bikes since 16!)..and anyway I'll have to use a 'L' and wont be able to carry a passenger...

I am really confused and I would really appreciate if someone could help me on this one! thanks a lot!!
