Can I do this?

I have a family plan, which has 3 of 4 phones due for "new every 2". I want to renew 2 of the phones, and wondering if I can do this.

Phone #1 has discount for NE2. User for phone #1 does not really need a new phone.
Phone #2 has 1 year left (not eligble for NE2), and needs a new phone

Can I buy a phone for phone #1 with the discount, then have it programmed over to phone #2 after we get it? Then program phone #1 back to original number.

Will Verizone do this? Any issues? Or do I have any other options?

You will not have any problems doing this be sure though that you activate the new phones on the lines upgrading then go and put them on the other lines.
