Can I change the TPS myself (Buick Regal)?

After some intermittent transmission problems, I took my 1994 Buick Regal 3.8 to the transmission shop. They ran a diagnostics test and found the code for the throttle control sensor. Is this something I can change myself?

Where on the engine is it located?

According to an online chiltons book it looks like a 10 year old could change it. Is this misleading?

It did not mention in the book any settings that had to be set after installation. Are there any?

I am not a automotive expert by any means, but i am cheap and somewhat poor, so I have successfully done some repairs to this car. Can I do this one, or should I bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic?

The tps (throttle position sensor) is located on the throttle body and is easy to change. Auto Zone can sell you the part and show you how to do it on their computer. I don't think this is your problem but can't say from not seeing it in person. Have Auto Zone scan it and see if they get same result.
