I'm currently one line in a Verizon family plan, and I really want to get an iPhone. My contract isn't up until June 2010 and I want to avoid the ETF. So my main question is this: Can I port my current number over to AT&T and change my number on Verizon to keep the line active through the end of the contract and avoid the ETF? Has anyone done this before? I saw on the Verizon website that you can specify a date on which your number will be changed. If I port my number before that time, does it cancel my contract (and I'll have to pay the ETF)?
