Can I carry a fixed blade knife in Pennsylvania when hiking in the woods?

Hello, I'm looking to do some hiking trips in Pennsylvania. Both on state game lands and in regular woods. I have a Ka-Bar knife with 7" fixed blade. I would like to wear it on the shoulder strap of my back pack or maybe on my waist. The purpose of the knife would be as a tool; such as splitting wood, cutting rope, or whatever came up. Is this legal to have visibly displayed in the sheath? Is it legal to keep in my back pack?
