I've just upgraded with vodafone on the 31st of December. The sales assistant told me to get the best line i should get a new number which i was ok with. He told me i had to get phone insurance which i didn't want but he told me i had to since i was getting an iphone 4 and said that i could cancel it after a month. My new tariff was of £42.00 incl VAT. He then gave me an extra free sim card with 300 min on valid for a month only.
After a month I almost had a heart attack when i received my first bill of £266.00
I've never paid more than an extra £5.00 on my bill since my minutes(700) are more than enough. I've tried to check my bill online but couldn't. Tried to contact vodafone and they apologised since they charged me for the free sim card and will refund £18.00 so new amount was £248.00
I asked for paper billing since they could not explain how my bill was still so high. Paper billing has not arrived yet after 2weeks. Called again they said paper bill is on its way. New bill is £59. Altogether between January and now I've been charged £327.00. I've contacted vodafone again and asked why can't i see online billing their answer was sorry wait until next bill and maybe you'll be able to check. Contacted them through vodafone chat and said they can't share billing info online. I've now refused to pay my bill until i receive paper billing. Vodafone has now locked my phone. Will i be able to cancel my contract or my direct debit even if i was on an £18 month contract.
P.s prior to this I've been a vodafone customer for 2years and never had any problem.
Thank you in advance
