Can I buy/use a verizon blackberry without a data plan?

i highly doubt you can...
because the new Verizon contract mandates customers with smartphones to have a data plan.
the cheapest would be 29.99 a month. unlimited data and txting. and 39.99 for business level smartphones for integrated business emails...etc.

I currently have an enV2, and I really like the look of blackberries, I ONLY use my phone for calling and txting, can I get a blackberry without the data plan?
