Can I buy a touch screen cell phone from ebay and have it activated under my Alltel...

I'm NOT positive, but I think if the phone you buy is a smartphone, you'll need to get the extra plan no matter what. If you buy a touchscreen dumbphone like an LG Voyager (just an example, not sure if it would work on Alltel), you wouldn't need the extra plan.
 
...account? I have a voice plan with a data and text package added. To get any of the touch screen phones Alltel offers I have to change my service to a smartphone plan. I see all these "Alltel" unlocked touch screen phones on ebay. Can I buy one and have Alltel activate it under my current plan?
