I currently have two Samsung Eternity's, which I pay $20 a month (per line) for unlimited data and 200 text messages. If I get a new at&t based android phone, it is going to cost me $30/month (per line) for 2gb of data and 200 text messages. That's $240/year or $480 for two years in cost difference. I don't really feel like paying that if I don't have to. I know it will cost me to buy the phones outside of extending or setting up a new plan, and I haven't figured out what phones I want so I don't know what I'm going to do yet.
But, my question is, assuming I buy an at&t android phone on Ebay, can I take the sim card from my eternity and put it in the android phone and get unlimited data and my 200 msgs without paying anything extra? Do I *have* to call AT&T and let them know I am using a new phone? Can they tell if I switched phones?
