I am under a lease agreement in the state of California that will not expire until July 11, 2009. I would like to break my lease due to hardship. I have been struggling to pay the rent for three months now due to my present situation. Is there a way to legally break my lease or should I continue to struggle until the end of my lease? Breaking my lease illegally is not an option for me. I have to preserve my credit.
Im on a yr lease. I am not facing eviction because I have been paying my rent. Getting part time work is not easy these days. Everyone is looking. Im not trying to have any judgments on my credit from a landlord. I think I will have a heart to heart with my landlord. If I cannot break my lease legally due to my financial issue, I will have to sweat it out till the lease expires.
