can i be charge with bike theft?

me and my fried where walking out of the school play ground and Shaw this bike and it had no lock on it we moved it to teach who ever bike it was to lock it up. As we exit down the road we see a pick up truck and it has a bike in it and it kind of look like the one we just moved. at any way can me and my friend be charge with bike theft even if we meant no harm
