I have been told I will probably need to testify against someone for violating a protective order which I filed. Even though he was arrested by the police, It looks like he is claiming "not guilty" and trying to take it to jury trial. I got a phone call from the DA and they told me I will prob need to appear as a witness.
A couple of days later I found out from the DA staff I have misdemeanor bench warrant in a nearby county about 3 or 4 hours away. They said I really need to take care of this becasue the other lawyer will prob try to use this against me. The warrant is for driving without insurance and possession of marijuana. If I testify on the probation violation, are they going to arrest me? I really want to take care of this bench warrant. I didn't know I had them, but I do not have the time or the money to make it out there before the trial.I don't know what to do any information on this would help. (also note the guy with the charge is also getting another charge because of this which is "application to revoke") Will I get arrested if I appear as a witness? If a previous judge issued mutual protective orders can I get a charge if I appear as a witness?
He has called me a couple of times and I do not respond, I was thinking he was calling to try and get me in more trouble too.
