Can I back up E61 to 6682? How?

Is there a way to back up my E61 contacts to my old 6682? I would like to have another working phone with all my contacts.

if you're synching with your desktop, then yes, just plug it in and go. that's the best way, honestly.

Alternatively, you could just use your SIM card as a medium to transfer them, but syncing is way better, as Rcadden suggested. You could also send all of them as vcards over Bluetooth from one device to the other. Lots of options.

Isn't there a data transfer app on Series 60 devices? I remember transferring my stuff from my 6620 to my 6682 via bluetooth.

You are all correct but I should have mentioned this before. I have many contacts with multiple cellphones and I have labeled them work or personal. I also have family and friends with a husband and wife in one contact, both have cell phones and I have them labeled with their respective names. I need to have this and Outlook doesn't track the labels I have.

I have tried the S60 transfer app on my phones and it seems that I can only sync one way. Only from my old 6682 to my current E61. I want to have a ready back up with all the numbers labeled correctly and it can't seem to do this going from a newer phone to an older phone.

That's unusual...you think it would work both ways.

Wonder if it has something to do with the different versions of S60?

the sync app works for me in both ways, tested with a n70 and my e61.

I believe if you clear out the contacts in your 6682, mark of of your contacts on your E61 , and hit Options>Send>via Bluetooth to your 6682, then you could just open all of them as vcards on your 6682 and they should have all the correct information. It may take a while to open all of them, depending on how many you have, but it will work.

The sync will also work both ways, but you have to install it on the 6682 also. To do this, I believe you need to start the sync with the E61, which will send the sync app over to the 6682 before you transfer anything.

I have over 700 contacts on my phone so I won't do it 1 by 1. I guess I will back up all my contacts on to the memory card and give it a shot, I will let you know if I delete all the contacts off my 6682 if it will back up to it.

I just emptied my contacts from my 6682 and transfered from my E61 to my 6682. I have a serious problem with this. The edited labels of many of the phone numbers did not transfer over. Only the generic label, mobile, phone, fax and so on. I'm stuck, how can I transfer all the names to my 6682 and keep the labels set the way they should be??? HELP?
