Can I add a basket to a mountain bike?

I got this bike from my dad who picked it up from the side of the road. Most girls would be disgusted but i liked it. i want to add a basket to it so my little do can ride in it. Is adding a basket to a mountain bike possible? If it is can you tell me where to get it installed?
 
Sure why not. Some days I wish I had little basket on my mtb for all the little artifacts I find on the trail. Maybe on the bars. or if there are brackets on the seat stays perhaps there. Just get creative because you already want a basket
