I contracted the Chicken Pox virus when I was 4 or 5 years. Ever since I could remember, I'd get what would begin as a rash, then turn into blisters. The right side of my face would become swollen and the infection would be so close to my eye that my doctor would have to closely monitor my sickness( in case of blindness). There was even an instance where I was admitted to the hospital for a 7 days at age 8, because of the severity of my sickness. It wasn't until I was 21 years old that I discovered what Shingles was. After having another attack, cultures where taken from the infected area of my face and it was discovered that I had HSV1. However, I don't think this is the case. I would like a second opinion. My exposure to Chicken Pox seems the only logical explanation of my attacks since childhood.
