Lately Ive stopped taking my meRAB for indigestion and Ive had bad chest pains for the past 3 days along with jaw pain. When i take deep breaths the middle of my chest will hurt and it raidates to my jaw sometimes. Does heartburn cause jaw pain to? Im 24 years old and have ealth anxiety. ive had numerous test for my heart and all are normal. But now with this jaw pain and chest pain its starting to worry me a little.

i suppose it is possible that the heartburn is causing it, that the pains in the chest radiate to your jaw. (i am glad to see you have been checked out cardiac-wise and that all is fine there). it certainly is coincidental that your jaw is bothering you, along with your chest, now that you've been off your meRAB.

what i'm wondering more though is if you are grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw due to the discomfort of indigestion/heartburn, either while you are awake or asleep.

are you going to go back on your meRAB? it sounRAB like perhaps you do need to be on something. i think your symptoms might get worse if they're already this bad.

Me to, Shair...as a matter of fact, it mimics heart attack pain SO much that I'm concerned some day it'll play wolf one too many times, and it'll be the 'real thing' but I'll brush it off as another GERD attack (jaw pain, ear pain, chest pain - not burning, but achy, etc. - the only thing 'missing' would be sweating and nasea and shortness of breath, but with COPD, I have that anyways ::sigh::

Yes you can have jaw pain. I have it with my acid reflux and from grinding my teeth at night. I bought a nightguard. It's not so bad and does help. Hang in there!

Reflux can cause jaw pain and back pain and rib cage pain. It feels like a heart attack.
Not pleasant.

Thanks for the replys. I dont know if im grinding my teeth at night. I plan on goin to the doc on Thursday to get it check out. But today has been the worse yet with this. The Jaw pain is bad today along with my chest pain. Its scraing the hell out of me. It hurts the worse when I take deep breathes in. Hopefully the doc can tell me whats causing this.

i got jaw pain form tmj whic is under control now, unfortunaolty higly stressed people like myself and prob you are prone to this becuase of the grinding teeth and clenching the jaw.........i cant imagine that relfux would cause jaw pain, but then again it may do as it certainly can cause a huge range of symptoms that are individaul........i get ear pain form my LPR!!

I have had both jaw and ear pain (along with occasional headache pain) with my acid reflux. I thought I was crazy but have read where this happens to some people. I have been on Aciphex for a year now and the only time I get a little of the acid reflux symptom is mostly after I walk up 2 flts of stairs and cross over to my office building at which time I now get the ear pain more than the others. Apparently this is esophageal spasm. At least I know what's causing it. I used to get the jaw, ear and head pain when I bent down or leaned over to pk something up or bathe etc. The chest pain was the worse when I first got this condition and didn't know what was happening with me. I work for my cardiologist and he did the stress test etc so he was convinced it was acid reflux which it was but the dull aching painful chest was debilitating and scarey.
