G-d is spirit and is neither male nor female. However, since humans have the tendency of referring to all beings (even inanimate objects) by gender, then it was found necessary to refer to "I am that I am" by a gender. And since G-d created the male of the species first and placed him in dominion over all other creatures, and yes women too, then it was only natural for G-d to be placed in a male gendered role. Thus referring to Him as the Father, not the Mother. So, should it be changed now because of "womens lib"? No it should not, because whether we like it or not, man is still the head of the households, not women.
