Can Go Phone be converted to Family Plan

I have an AT&T phone with a contract. My wife uses this phone 100% of the time. My 2nd phone is a AT&T Go Phone which I use. I have low usage. I can load $25.00 on my Go Phone and it can last 2 or 3 months..

I am thinking of getting rid of my land phone and going totally cellular. Will AT&T allow my Go Phone to be added to a family plan? I really don't want to get another phone or be locked in another 2 year commitment. I was just curious if they would do something like that.. :)

Simple answer: Yes, you can use a GoPhone on a family plan.
More complicated answer: While you can use a GoPhone on a regular postpaid plan, I am not sure if they will allow you to add it without a contract. It will physically work fine, because all you have to do is put in a new SIM card, but they might or might not allow you to add it without a contract. I have heard contradicting stories about whether they will. Some people have claimed to have done it without a contract and some people say that you cannot. They do allow you to go no contract if you bring your own equipment or buy a phone at retail cost, and technically you are bringing your own equipment, because you already own it. I suppose it will depend on the rep you deal with.
