Can gameboy advance use gameboy COLOR games?

I'm pretty sure it can; but I wanted to double check before I bought something.
why do people keep referring the DS to be a gameboy?
it may be portable and by the same company, but that's pretty stupid. the name isn't even the same..
I already own a Game Boy advance--I want to buy a gameboy color game. That's why I'm asking.. you don't have to tell me the ups and downs ^^;
 
Yep they sure can. There should be nothing wrong with the screen, sound, anything! If there is, I would consider getting your GBA or the game checked. But there should be no problems at all.
