Can fish read each others minds, or do they just have very fast reflexes?

I love watching schools of swim swim together. They all spontaneously turn at the same time. How do they do it?
 
Fish do not have conscious awareness, so reading minds is moot. They sense changes in pressure with their lateral line sensory system, and respond to the changes in pressure accordingly to stay in formation.
 
I saw a documentary on the Discovery Channel about it, it described that fish have a little sensor near their gills that allows them to sense movement in the water near them, it uses changes in pressure in the water that surrounds them and when they sense less pressure in one side, they will turn towards the side with the less pressure to compensate for the other side! It works so fast that it looks like they all move at the same time! Cool huh?
