It is plastic, but there is still a little bit of antiperspirant stuck in there. Is it okay to recycle this, or should I just put it in the trash? Or maybe clean it a little?

No They should be burned in your fireplace they leave a nice odor to your house as an added benefit.

I am not sure what the plastic number is for a deodorant cartridge. So maybe rather than throwing your old plastic container out with your recycling... you could refill that cartridge with some homemade deodorant. If you are interested I have have a recipe.

If they are made of recyclable plastic, yes. But you must clean it and make sure to remove the parts that won't be recyclable.
