Can Dissidia cheats work with the Australian version of the game?

I'm from Australia and i just bought Dissidia and I've been looking for cheats and there are some that uses friend codes but when i put them in it doesn't work.

Is it because the cheats are only for Japan or North America?

Oh yeah leave you friend codes with your answer.
