i had read some where that dancing can help induce labor is this true or just another wives tale i am37 weeks and 3 days

Nothing can truly self-induce labor, everything is essentially an old wives tale. Some women just get lucky that labor happened to start after trying whatever they tried, but that doesn't mean that the action caused labor. If "A" happens before "B" happens that doesn't mean "A" caused "B". Faulty logic.

When you are already IN labor, walking, rocking in a chair, dancing to move the pelvis, all these things can help a baby move lower and add pressure during contractions to help the cervix dilate more quickly.

Your body labors when it is ready. Hang in there. Best of luck.

I was 6 days until my due date and I was doing the "twist" with my auntie and the day after I went into labor. I just thought it was funny when I read this question because thats exacly what happened!...lol. I don't know if it's true but it was for me!

I dont know how true that is. They say walking helps but the people I know who walked and walked to go into labor it never worked. I dont know how fast you can even dance at full term labor so I dont know how that could help. I guess anything keeping yourself vertical helps with the gravity pull but really I think the baby just comes when its ready but I am sure I would be trying to hurry things along too.
