I have a friend (female) who has been with her boyfriend for around a year in a on-again off-again relationship.
Recently, she tested positive for clamidia, along with her boyfriend.
Turns out her boyfriend had contracted the disease from a *friend/w benefits* in a *off-again* time in their relationship.
They both went to a clinic and Zithromax was administered intravenously to them both, and were informed to not have sexual relations for 3 weeks.
Now it's 2 months later, and they have (supposedly) kept faithful to each other, and they both have clamidia AGAIN. They both say they did not have sexual relations with each other in the 3 week waiting period, so it can't be reinfections from themselves.
Can clamidia return for no reason? Is it possible treatment failed? This is thier first (now second) time getting clamidia, so I wouldn't guess either of them has a high tolerence to antibiotics.
The only was I can see them getting clamidia is someone slept with someone outside of thier relationship, but I would feel horrible if I warned either of them if it was a simple matter of a treatment failing, which I have never heard of except in cases where the damage from clamidia has been done and can't be reversed.
Is someone unfaithful?
