Can Cingular E62 use Taiwan E61 firmware?

Hi ppl,

Is it possible to re-flash the Cingular Nokia E62 firmware to the Taiwan version E61 firmware? Basically I want to have the Chinese OS in my E62. Is it possible?

If possible, please give me the region code for Taiwan E61.....

I have upgraded my N73 firmware online already so I know how the process works...but I just dont know if the E62/E61 firmwares are compatible..

Help!

oh...that kinda sux...

i was hoping i can use the E61 Taiwan Chinese firmware so I can read/type chinese on my E62.....oh well..

You could use E62 Chinese firmware, but I would advise you to locate a replacement keypad as the key layout changes and not even all English characters are in the same places.

thanks for giving me hope! do you know where i can do the firmware flash or where i can get the E62 Chinese firmware? also, do you know if it's in HK Chinese or TW Chinese? Because I can send it back to Taiwan to have the keypads replaced but I dont know if the Taiwan keypads differs from the HK keypads.....

btw, have you done the firmware flash or do you know anyone that have done it successfully so i won't be going around like crazy looking for the firmware....

You could try NSU with the TAIWAN product code. Note: you will not be able to go back to US code unless you have someone with a hardware flashing device who can do it for you (Evan@iunlock comes highly recommended).

A friend of mine used NSU to flash the Chinese software out of curiosity and I had to use the JAF flasher to restore his E62 back to normal. I don't know if NSU will still work on APAC firmware.
 
Any chance you could tell me what your E62s most recent firmware was? I just got mine today and want to see if there is still a chance to unbrand it. I'm running:
