Can being hungover help your performance in sports activities?

I know this sounds ridiculous but hear me out. I am playing on my high school's team right now and we have one game a week on sunday mornings. I have showed up to two games hungover and they were by far my best two games of the year.

I play point guard and probably average around 8-12 ppg including maybe one or two three pointers. One game about a month ago I was completely hammered the night before. Way drunker than i would ever want to be. Threw up 4 times in the night and don't remember going to bed. When i woke up i felt terrible and running during the game made me want to throw up. I started shooting threes and i couldn't miss. I finished the game 6-7 from beyond the arc and led the team in scoring.

Just yesterday i got really drunk again (homecoming night) and showed up to the game feeling terrible. I played good but not amazing in the first half, and coming into the third quarter we were down by 12. i started taking over the game and i scored 9 straight points. our team went on a 23-0 run and i had 19 of those points. granted the other team started to play terrible on offense and missed several easy shots. still i had a team high again and we won easily.

is this a coincidence or could there be something to this?

when i play i feel very sick during warm ups and it's hard to concentrate on anything but once the game starts i dont feel sick as much. except when i run. running a lot makes me want to throw up.

coments/opinions/scientific studies?

It's a coinciidence. WHen I had hangovers I felt like crap, couldn't run and wanted to vommit all over the place. hangovers ruin performance in anything
