already put this thread in general discussion chatter section but think it is more suited here:

pick a film you love (and nobody could possibly hate)
pick a film you think is rubbish (and nobody could love)

go to yahoo movies: http://movies.yahoo.com/

find the films.
Goto yahoo user ratings.
If anyone has given the film you love an overall grade of F you lose
If anyone has given the film you hate a grade of A+ you lose
Otherwise you win!

Only rule is the film must have over 100 user reviews

its very infruiating and amazing how different people view the same films

my picks:
E.T
AND
JAWS THE REVENGE

I lose! How can anyone hate E.T??? and some people think jaws the revenge is the best ever! ??

sorry you lose too!

The Godfather had 935 reviews and lots of people gave it a grade F and described it as long and boring.

Raise the titanic has only had 10 user reviews - rejected!

Remember we are looking at USER reviews not critics.
only Yahoo movies for the purpose of this game count. (sorry imdb fan!)

It does seem an challenging thing to do.
It appears that at least 1 of the worst films ever has A+.

For my worst wanted to say Clockmaker, was on Five the other week, was made in about 2005.
Wouldn't waste another valuable 80 mins of life, but it is not found on the Yahoo site.

But sifting through I have found a film where no-one has voted A+.
Legion of the Dead (2001).

Makes me wonder why people vote for real crap films.
There is a couple which have no ratings at all, but not got the time to go through them.

For my best I would say Back To The Future.

Nice try, you found legion of the Dead (2001) but unfortunately it only has 9 user reviews. The rules state the film must have at least 100 reviews.

Back to the future has 319 reviews, and yes no one has voted it an F. So thats half the challenge complete.

So now what is left is to find 1 film with over 100 users reviews that noone thought worthy of an A+ and we can all sleep easily.

you didnt check them yourself did you? ;)
Drowning Mona - only 13 reviews so not valid anyway. (3 Fs and 2 A+s)
Raiders of the lost Ark - 602 reviews. (lots of A+s and 4 people gave it Fs "worst movie ever" ,"awful","bad","bad movie"

Currently winning the most "universally liked film" part of the challenge IS chris2k2 with "Back to the future" - 1985. If anyone can find a more recent film than that with no F grade in over 100 user reviews they can take the prize off him. (more recent is deemed better as more people likely to have given it both good and bad marks).

Nobody is winning the "most universally disliked" film ever prize, yet.

(havent worked out what the prize is yet by the way!)

I picked a film that I don't actually like - It's a Wonderful Life, but there's a user like me who gave it an F (damn it!)
Then I picked a film that NO ONE could possibly like - Tank Girl - and loaRAB of people gave it A+. WTF?

Well, I just tried Frankenstein - the 1930s original - and it's not even listed. Not much of a movie site RAB!

Then I tried Aliens -
There was only one F - by someone called duckfan4ever234, who gave it
Story: A+
Acting: A+
Direction: A+
Visuals: A+
Overall Grade: F

So how does that work then?
