I'm eighteen and dumb and was leaving my boyfriend's house around 3am. I park on the curb beside his driveway and I didn't want to wake up his parents, so, I did what i usually do and started foward without my headlights on. Which was idiotic because the windshield was slightly foggy so I couldn't see in front of me. But usually that doesn't matter because I turn on my headlights after I pass his house. Except, this time, their 90-something Ford Ranger was parked on the curb on the other side of his driveway, so I ended up running into the rear end of it. The hitch/ball thing went right through my right headlight. Apart from a small dent, nothing was wrong with his truck. But, my poor civic has a destroyed headlight and it looks like a metal bar, possibly part of the frame, was bent. I'm not fantastic with cars, so I'm not sure if anything else is wrong besides the obvious.. I drove home, which was about 12 miles. And the car worked fine and sounded fine, except for the occasional plastic falling out of the busted headlight.. So, my question, can anyone give me a price estimate of what it could cost to replace the ENTIRE headlight and is there any way to fix a bent frame? If so, how much would that end up costing? Not taking insurance into account or anything, because I'm not sure if insurance covers this type of thing..
