Can anyone suggest an author that is similar to Tess Gerritsen?

I love the books by Tess Gerritsen and I have read all of the ones except for the romance novels. My favorites are those in her Maura Isles and Jane Rizzoli series. However, I have read them all and she only puts out about one a year. Her next one is not going to be out until 2010. Can anyone suggest another author that has a similar style to hers?
 
Try Robin Cook's books, such as Coma. I don't know if the style is the same, but they're very human medical thrillers.
