And thank you to carrolls for digging this thread up for me :) It's funny to see how many people managed to understand exactly what I meant without mentioning that "big hard word" of yours.
 
Try "In America" - Fabulous film. Critically acclaimed but no many people saw it ! Be warned though, it's extremely moving in places as well as being a great narrative of what it's like to just arrive in New York having come from leafy green Ireland. Let me know what you think if you ever watch this film.
