I'm in the mood for a really good romantic film, preferably with a happy ending but not something fluffy and cheesy. I use to love watching romantic comedies hence my username but now I've just gone off all of them and am looking for something with heart, real chemistry that sparks off the screen, and drama. Can anyone suggest something that fits that criteria. Thanks! :)
 
Seen Notting Hill and Pretty Woman. I'm not fussed on either but would class them as romantic comedies. I love Dirty Dancing though.

I'm wanting something different and not formulaic.
 
..."Roxanne" with Steve Martin and Darryl Hannah. Beautifully played. Very funny love story.

It's more than 20 years old but give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
 
Whatever you do, DON'T watch Music & Lyrics! It was on on a flight I was on and I was almost willing the plane to crash.

I took the headphones off instead, though :p

The Notebook - Never seen it myself but my OH loves it. Although dont know if it's what youre after as it's a romantic drama rather than romantic comedy.
 
Was just about to recommend this - an intelligent romcom that has got some really resonant moments, and it makes some very true observations about relationships.

I'm sure you've seen this, but Clueless is one of my guilty pleasures :o Although Paul Rudd is so gorgeous you wonder why she didn't think of him earlier :D
 
I watched No Reservations recently and found it a refreshing take on a romcom, plus Aaron Eckhart is just lovely, I think I love him!
 
Maybe I didn't make myself clear in my first post. I'm not looking for a romantic comedy, just a romantic film with a believable romance, great chemistry that is also believable and drama.
